Can you believe we are at the end of June already? Summer will have come and gone before we know it! But since time does pass so quickly, how important it is that we take time to reflect on the things that mean the most to us.
Today I am happy to introduce you to a member of our circulation team, Maria Jackson. She has not been with us very long, we we have been grateful to have her here, and I appreciate her diligent efforts to learn her job and do it to the best of her ability.
She shares some of her thoughts:
Wow! What am I grateful for? I could list many things in my life that I’ve been and continue to be thankful for, but when Lynn asked me to take some time to put this into writing, she couldn’t have asked me at a more perfect time because that has been something I had actually been reflecting on these past few days.
It’s all about my family. They are definitely at the top of that list.
I need to start out with how grateful I am for my good husband, a wonderful man, who does more for me than I often deserve. Then there are my five amazing children (all grown now – well, except for my teenager) who continue to bring me so much joy in this life.
This past week one of our sons returned home after being away for the past couple of years, bring out other sons home from school and work for the purpose of being together once again. What a wonderful reunion that was for our family, even though we were still one short with our daughter being out of town at that time. It was just so fun to hear the loud laughter, talking and just being in a noisy house once again.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize how important those moments are in my life and how much I need to appreciate them as they come around. I’m also recognizing more and more how much life is pulling my children in different directions and away from home as they go about making those decisions about their future and what they want to do with their lives. It’s been a lesson to me about the need of letting go so that they can spread their wings and be able to do what the Lord has in store for them.
I’m also grateful for the many people throughout our years here in Idaho who have taken part in raising my children through their positive influences and remarkable examples. We truly have many good people in this community.
One of the reasons that we chose to move to Idaho over 20 years ago was to raise our family, and I have to say that it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Being originally from England, I now claim Idaho as my home – this being another blessing that I am grateful for.
I love everything about this place – the dry desert, beautiful mountains, the seasonal changes of the weather, the wide open spaces, and most of all, the people. Some of the most amazing individuals we have ever met are from this area that we call home.
One of the comforts that I have in my life is that no matter how difficult life can get at times, we will always have each other to get us through. I’ve truly been blessed above my expectations.
Thank you, Maria! You are a such a good example of someone who care about her family and is there for them when they need you. You have a big heart and will continue to bless the lives of those you come in contact with, too!
